Banned Books Week

Banned Books Week is an annual event sponsored by the American Library Association.  This week long event celebrated the freedom to read what you want, when you want!  This event is typically held the last week of September. (This year is is Sept. 21-28.)

However, this year, we are celebrating Banned Books Week here at Chicago Heights Public Library for 3 weeks!   Come in and do a scavenger hunt around the library to find banned books and at the end win a gift bag with goodies and your choice of a banned or challenged book to take home and keep!

Stop by the Reference desk for more information, and to pick up your first clue!

Welcome to Our New Website!

Over the past few months we have been working hard on updating our website with fresh, new information.

We are excited that the time and efforts have finally paid off!  We are excited to debut our new webpage, where the information is easily located and the programs and pictures are instantly available!  We hope that you enjoy our new webpage, and if you have any questions or concerns, please forward them on to our Assistant Library Director, Jamie Paicely, at paicelyj@chicagoheightslibrary.org and she will respond to those!
