Internet Access

Chicago Heights Public Library offers computers with broadband Internet access. 11 computers are available for 1 hour sessions.

Reservations

To reserve time on a Chicago Heights Public Library Internet computer, you may call or visit the reference desk at the Library. The Library phone number is (708) 754-0323.Reservations can be made up to one day in advance.

To ensure access to as many users as possible, patrons may reserve only two 1 hour sessions per day Monday through Saturday and one 1 hour session on Sundays. However, if no reservations exist for a particular computer, it will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Paper

Paper is 10 cents a page. Do not use both sides and do not bring your own paper. Using both sides causes paper jams. You are also paying for the ink not just the paper.

Please Be on Time

Reserved sessions begin promptly at the scheduled start time and end 1 hour later. Session time is not adjusted for late starts, so please be on time. The official time is the library's time.

Reservations are held for ten minutes past the scheduled start time. If you are not able to keep your reservation, please call to cancel it. If you are more than ten minutes late, or do not show up at all, your reservation is cancelled and you will forfeit that reservation. If you forfeit more than three sessions, you will not be permitted to reserve computer sessions for one month.

If you do not show up for your 1 hour session, that is still counted against your two hour limit on Monday-Friday. If done on Sunday you aren't eligible for another time slot that day.

Inappropriate Use

Please use the computer appropriately. Inappropriate use (i.e. porn) will result in a ban of one year. Also do not download programs onto our computers. If you need to save bring your own disks or jump drives. We are selling jump drives for ten dollars. Quantity is limited. Computer time is not yours to give away. If you are leaving early and want to allow someone else to use it, Please tell us.

Wi-fi

If you do not want to deal with the hassle of using our computers you can bring your own. Just bring in your laptop and you will be connected to the internet. You'll still need to obtain a "Internet Use Agreement" first.
