2019 ANNUAL MLK CELEBRATION

Happy New Year! The Chicago Heights City Clerk’s Office is hosting the Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Monday, January 21, 2019, 10:00am-12:00pm at the Chicago Heights Public Library located at 25 W. 15th Street, Chicago Heights, IL 60411. Please join us as community leaders and an array of local talent encourage, motivate, and inspire our youth to creatively learn about the importance of working together in the spirit of a great historical leader, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

2019 MLK-INSPIRED ART ~ POETRY ~ ESSAY CONTEST

All Chicago Heights students are encouraged to enter into the annual MLK Art Contest, which can be downloaded from the library’s website: www.chicagoheightslibrary.org. To help with the efforts of student participation, the library has a Free Afterschool Lunch & Enrichment Program (Monday—Friday, 4:00-5:00pm) with art materials including poster-boards, color paper, markers, crayons, glue and glitter! Stop by the library to eat while you create your awesome MLK art project!

 

All MLK Art Contest entries will be beautifully displayed at Chicago Heights Library through Black History Month and all participants will receive a Certificate of Appreciation. MLK Art Contest winners will receive up to $25 in gift cards and other great prizes. Join the proud community of Chicago Heights as we come together to enjoy this special holiday with our talented youth and inspirational leaders.
